His Holiness Late Srimanmaharaj Niranjan Jagadguru Dr. Gangadhara Rajayogeendra Mahaswamiji Moorusavirmath, Hubli |

His
Holiness Late Srimanmaharaj Niranjan Jagadguru Dr. Gangadhara
Rajayogeendra Mahaswamiji, Hubli was born at Sasivala in Hassan
District in 1927. After his consecration as the Swamiji of
Moorusavirmath, he evinced keen interest in the field of education,
medical relief, social and cultural activities, bringing social
awareness among the people and helping the poor and the needy. The
Women's College at Hubli stands as a monument for his passion of
educating the girl child. The hospital at Ghataprabha is an epitome of
his love for the suffering and the downtrodden. As a result of his
unique vision he established the Business Administration College for
Women and Women's ITI. His thirst for literature is evident from Shri
Jagadguru Gangadhar Dharma Pracharak Mandal. Our Late Swamiji was
popularly known by his pen name 'MOOJAGAM'. His Vachanas "Poorngnyana
Vachanagalu" numbered more than 5000 contained the quintessence of his
life and experience. In recognition of his outstanding achievements in
various fields, the Karnatak University, Dharwad has conferred on him
the honorary degree of 'Doctor' in 1994.
His
Holiness had visited 14 countries and attended world congress of
religions thrice held in Kyuto (Japan) and Brussels (Germany). He
undertook frequent 'Padayatras' in order to create communal harmony
among Hindus and Muslims in Hubli, which is one of the sensitive areas
of communal riots in Karnataka. His Holiness dedicated his life to
serve mankind. He believed in not just to enable a man to read a
newspaper or deliver a lecture, but he wished an all round development
of man resulting in sincerity, discipline, self-confidence etc. Such
was the vision of the late senior Pontiff and hence he established the
Sri Jagadguru Moorusavirmath Vidyavardhak Sangha at Hubli in 1966 and
the Sangha is currently managing successfully as many as 44
educational, social, religious and literary institutions.

THE SUCCESSOR |
| |
|
His Holiness Srimanmaharaja Niranjan
Jagadguru Gurusiddha Rajayogeendra
Mahaswamiji Moorusavirmath, Hubli |
|
After
the sad demise of our Dr. Moojagam at the age of 77, Srimanmaharaj
Jagadguru Gurusiddha Rajayogeendra Mahaswamiji was made the successor.
He too has an equally evincing interest in women's education. His
vision is greatly influenced by the ongoing changes in the economy of
the country that has made him to seriously think for the introduction
of more and more professional courses than the traditional ones. He,
however, wishes that such introduction should not be at the cost of the
age old degrees like B.A. and B.Com., which provide the students the
basic knowledge of life. Poojya Swamiji's ideas are many which are
going to be implemented at appropriate times. At present, he is
seriously engaged in the study of our present education system, their
merits and demerits, future requirements, comparative study of foreign
education system and Indian education system etc. |
