THEME OF THE CONFERENCE:
Globalization has greatly improved the lives of women worldwide. Over the years, women have made the transition from playing traditional roles to strongly integrating into the productive world.
Women suffered for centuries but now they have awakened and are well aware of their rights and strengths. Women are having a tough time coping with the reality of economic globalization. This has led to increased workloads, lower pay, menial tasks and more stress. But can globalization work if women do not work? Can communities survive if women are not around to supplement the task of social protection?
The economic models need to be transformed not just to ease women’s pain but to give them full respect in the global set-up. The purpose of the conference is to understand the unique problems of women in different areas of life including education, employment, health, marriage, to make efforts to eliminate the discrimination against women. |
